System Requirements

  • macOS 26 or later
  • Apple Silicon (M1+) or Intel Mac
  • ~100 MB disk space
  • Internet connection for cloud AI providers
  • Optional: Ollama installed for local models

Quick Start

  • Download the .dmg file
  • Drag Prism.app to your Applications folder
  • Open Prism and grant Accessibility permissions
  • Add your API keys in Settings (Gemini, etc.)
  • Press Ctrl + Space to launch Quick AI Panel

API Keys

  • Google Gemini — API keys from ai.google.dev
  • GitHub Copilot — uses your existing subscription
  • NVIDIA NIM — API keys from build.nvidia.com
  • Ollama — no API key needed (fully local)
  • Apple Intelligence — built into macOS, no key needed
  • Prism Hosted — sign in with Prism; hosted models when your plan includes them (no separate vendor API key for that path)
  • MCP — optional integrations under Settings → MCP; use @ in chat for @FileCreator, @QuizCreator, @FlashCardCreator, and configured servers
  • Custom APIs — add OpenAI-compatible and Anthropic-compatible endpoints

Is Prism subscription-based?
Prism supports subscriptions and a lifetime license for app access, plus any usage costs from your selected cloud providers.
Does Prism collect my data?
No. Zero telemetry, no analytics. With Ollama or Apple Intelligence, data never leaves your device.
Can I use it offline?
Yes — with Ollama for local LLMs and Apple Intelligence for on-device models. Cloud providers require internet.
