1. Overview
Prism is a native macOS application that connects you to AI models from multiple providers. We designed Prism with a local-first philosophy: your conversations, files, and credentials stay on your Mac wherever possible. This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and the choices you have.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create a Prism account or purchase a plan, we collect your email address, display name, and payment details processed through our third-party payment provider.
Usage data (Prism Hosted only). When you use Prism Hosted models, we collect anonymised, aggregated analytics such as feature engagement, session duration, crash reports, and device type (e.g. macOS version, hardware model). This data cannot be used to identify you personally. No usage data is collected when you use your own API keys or local models.
3. Data We Do Not Collect
Prism is built with a local-first architecture. The following data is stored entirely on your Mac and is never accessed, collected, transmitted, or logged by Prism:
• Chat messages and conversation history
• File contents and documents
• Browser automation sessions
• API keys and service credentials
• MCP server configurations
• @-tool inputs
4. How We Use Your Information
We only use your information to process payments and send essential service emails such as receipts, security alerts, and account changes. We do not analyse, profile, or use your data for any other purpose.
5. AI Providers and Third-Party Services
When you choose to send a prompt through Prism, your message is transmitted directly to the AI provider you selected (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, a local model endpoint). Prism does not intercept, store, or log the content of those requests on its own servers.
Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and terms of service. We encourage you to review the policies of any provider you connect to through Prism.
MCP servers, browser automation targets, and other @-tool integrations are governed by their respective operators. Prism acts only as a conduit and does not control how those services handle data.
6. Data Storage and Security
All sensitive data — including conversations, files, API keys, and credentials — is stored locally on your Mac using macOS system frameworks. We do not run cloud sync for this data.
Account-level data (email, subscription status) is stored on encrypted infrastructure managed by our hosting provider. We apply industry-standard security measures, including TLS for data in transit and encryption at rest.
7. Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, or use your personal information with or for any third parties. The only exception is when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
8. Cookies and Tracking
The Prism website uses only essential cookies required for site functionality (e.g. session persistence). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking scripts. The desktop application does not use cookies.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at gl.aarav@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records (e.g. financial transactions).
Local data on your Mac is entirely under your control. Uninstalling Prism removes all locally stored data.
11. Children's Privacy
Prism is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
